This Master is committed to disciplinary deepening in the theories of argumentation, rhetoric and reasoning, and the interdisciplinary research they require, linking the different fields of study such as the speech analysis, philosophy of communication, media analysis and the theory of law among others. The master offers a theoretical and methodological foundation for all the postgraduate students that look for a sound conceptual base for conducting their research in these areas. The program provides expertise on normative and descriptive dimensions of the communication and argumentation processes, as well as exploring different conceptions of reasoning and persuasion.
It offers tools for the understanding of various forms of argumentation that is used in several types of speech and texts to persuade certain audiences on behalf of certain views, in the area of different communicative verbal and nonverbal spaces. The most relevant concepts, from the classic and contemporary points of view of the argumentation, rhetoric and reasoning will be used in the analysis and systematic assessment of the speech.
