Spanish with emphasis on the literature of Garcia Marquez and the Caribbean culture
Program description: The Caribbean Section of Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, in Cartagena, Colombia, is offering the Spanish Foreign Language program in its three levels, based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR): Beginner (A1-A2), Intermediate (B1-B2).
General Objective: To teach Spanish to people from around the world, revealing aspects of Colombian culture. Students will be able to create links with the local environment and engage in social life. The name of the program refers to Colombian Nobel Prize winner, Gabriel García Márquez, a reference of universal literature, and an interpreter of Colombian reality. The course focuses on his work. The important cultural immersion in this teaching-learning context is carried out among different academic and extracurricular activities, where students experience the writer´s own vision of Cartagena.
